He has not been raised up by God to carry all of your heavy weights and burdens. He is not here to solve all of your manifold problems. He is not here to help you get more food stamps, or show you how to legalize marijuana. He is not here to pay your gas and water bills. He is not here to help your football team win the next Super Bowl game or pick and choose for you who will play for the new and improved NBA. He is not here to rid the world of ALL black-on-black crime, or to stop ALL drug trafficking in the nation. He is not here to do everything for you. He is not here to pick green boogers from your nose, or to stop all racism in this country. He is not here to clean your filthy toilets or take out all your dirty trash. He is not here to supply you with more rib tips, pigs’ feet, hog maws, chitterlings, black-eyed peas, collard greens, fried pork chops, watermelon, or to cook your barbecue chicken wings. He is not here to Step ‘n’ Fetchit, Amos and Andy, or Sanford and Son his way into your homes. Neither will he be appearing on the BET Last Comic Stand. He is not here to placate or pacify you. He is here to teach, to inspire, and to motivate you into MOTIVATING YOU. He is not here to change you; he is here to help you find more of YOU. He is not here to do everything for you. He is here to help you CHANGE YOUR THINKING. He is here to supplicate YOU to make happen what is within your very own hands, the power to make happen. He is here as a divine symbol of what a Human Being who does not fear to dream his dream can make happen. He is here to set an example that not all black fathers are no-good non-providers who abandon their families and do not face their responsibilities as men. He is here to show all black men how to be wise, tender, and loving to their wives. He is here not as the Powerful God, but as a man who is DIVINELY GOD-EMPOWERED. He is not here to do everything for you. He is here to help you find more of YOU. He is here to help you find more DREAMING. He is here to help you find more WILLING. He is here to help you CHANGE YOUR THINKING, from I can’t, into, I-WILL, I-MUST, I-CAN. He is here to show us by example how to FOLD SPACE and bring INTO MANIFESTATION whatever we dream and will ourselves to bring INTO MANIFESTATION. He is here to show you the way, but YOU MUST FOLLOW THE WAY HE SHOWS. God has raised up into our midst a great Nubian prince, with a family of faces, noses, and lips like the ones our ancestors’ had who were not allowed to cast their vote concerning the workings of this nation.
